Mile High Dachshunds Rescue was founded in 2015. Our mission is to rehome dachshunds and dachshund mixes who need to be rehomed into our rescue and give them love and care they need while looking for their new home with their needs in mind. They are immediately fully vetted physically, medically, and assessed for any behavioral issues.  We never cut corners. Then a qualified foster home is identified for each dog.  For adoption we carefully match the needs of the dog for their home.  Vet bills now are extremely expensive and without your donations and support as fosters or volunteer support we couldn’t do what we need to do. • REGISTRATION for the races and costume contests will be done on the day of the event at the Registration Tent.
• All participants (including children under 18 yrs old) participating in the event must sign a waiver whether or not they are with a dog. This includes anyone on the racetrack.

  1. It’s $20 per dog to race. This race allows a maximum of “72” dogs.
• COST for Costume Contest
  1. No limit on the number participants per each category, dogs can only participant in ONE costume category.
  2. OWNER DOG/DUO $20 (Cost is just for the dog) with “FUNNIEST THEME”
  3. PACK THEME $30 total for the pack (unlimited number of dogs) “HALLOWEEN THEME”
  4. BEST TV OR MOVIE CHARACTER THEME…… $20 for a single dog event
  5. MOST CREATIVE THEME……. $20 for a single dog event
  6. BEST IN SHOW……No charge. All participants in every category who wants to stick around will parade around the picnic tables and “the crowd” will choose their “#1” favorite entry.
• PRIZES
  1. The race will have 12 heats, 2 semi finals, 1 final. We will crown; First, Second and Third place. Breckenridge Brewery and MHDR will provide the prizes.
  2. Costume Contest with have First, Second and Third Place prizes for each category. Breckenridge will provide a prize only for First place. Best in Show will receive a trophy provided by MHDR.

  1. With lots of great STUFF to buy. Will be open 10am-2pm!
• VOLUNTEERS
  1. Consider volunteering for this event or upcoming others. We are always in need of Fosters. Foster a dog, if it works out well you have first choice to adopt.
• Timeline:
  – Race Registration Day of between 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM- Races from 11 AM – 2 PM
  • Costume Contest day of regristration between 12 PM – 1 PM
  • Costime contest between 1 PM – 2 PM
