Elevating the Beer Industry

Breckenridge Brewery is proud to join the other Anheuser-Busch craft breweries in launching a new initiative we call Elevate. Our goal is to make the beer industry as a whole stronger, safer, and more sustainable. The initiative focuses on 4 pillars: Better Beer, Better Environment, Better Communities, and Better Industry. Our commitment is to invest more in programs that Breckenridge Brewery already has in place while joining other breweries in new programs that will have a positive impact on our employees, our communities, and the brewing industry.

Here are a few examples of Elevate's initiatives and how they apply to Breckenridge Brewery & Colorado:

Better Beer:

  • Elevate is committed to implementing a “best consumed by” date coding for all A-B craft breweries.
  • Breckenridge Brewery is set up to make this happen.

Better Environment

  • Elevate plans to set and achieve best in-class environmental standards, starting with the installation of solar panels at all A-B craft breweries in 2018.
  • Breckenridge Brewery has been focused on improving our efficiencies for environmental purposes for years, and with the Elevate commitment, we are already working on solar panel installation. Our sustainability committee continues to research strategies for reducing energy, water, and natural gas usage. We were recently recognized by the Brewers Association as a Top 25% performer for natural gas usage. We’ve implemented recycling/composting programs both at our breweries and at our events, in fact, we diverted up to 82% of waste from the landfill at several of our summer concerts.

Better Communities:

  • Elevate commits to a continued investment in our communities, and A-B craft breweries commit to a collective $2,000,000 to community organizations in 2018.
  • Breckenridge Brewery’s Breck Gives Back program is already in place, and we plan to grow our giving programs in 2018. Breck Gives Back includes our tour donation program, beer donation programs like ZIPA and Cranelito (which currently benefit Freedom Service Dogs and Food Bank of the Rockies respectively), dine-back programs at the Farm House restaurant to benefit local schools and other organizations, and a multitude of beer, swag, cash, and gift card donations to local charities.

Better Industry:

  • Elevate commits to opening up the world of possibilities for beer through experience, education, and opportunity.
  • Breckenridge Brewery in Breck and our Farm House in Littleton host many events to educate consumers on beer styles, beer & food, and beer & the arts. We also host guest speakers at our Littleton facility on a quarterly basis to provide information on safety, quality, and sustainability for commercial brewers. Since our days on Kalamath Street, we’ve offered free testing in our lab to other breweries. We offer training to our employees interested in achieving Cicerone certification so that we might better educate our customers on the beer category, helping to raise the bar for beer and grow the category as a whole.

We're excited about this elevated, collaborative focus on our environment, our communities, our consumers, and our industry. We look forward to reporting on its progress as the program advances.
