Breckenridge Brewery’s Maibock wins medal at Great American Beer Festival

Over the weekend we were given an extra reason to celebrate. Our Mountain Series Maibock won the bronze medal in the Bock category at the 2017 Great American Beer Festival. “We’re extremely proud of this award. It’s nice to be recognized among so many great brewers,” commented Todd Usry, President and Brewmaster for Breckenridge Brewery. “Our congratulations go out to the other Bock category winners On Tour Brewing and Hailstorm Brewing. We were honored to share the platform with them and to represent brewers big and small.”

Mountain Series Maibock is a malty and relatively strong German lager. Pale malts produce a bright color and notes of honey with toasted grain. To put an updated spin on the traditional style, the brewers used more contemporary hop varieties. These German hops create a pleasant, fruity aroma with a dry and refreshing finish.

Our Maibock is typically released in late spring in the brewery’s Rocky Mountain Sampler Pack. Breckenridge brewed a special small batch in preparation for Great American Beer Festival, so currently that Maibock batch can be found on tap at the Farm House at Breckenridge Brewery in Littleton, Co. If you're in the area come give it a try - you may discover it's quite the winner.
