Breckenridge Brewery Completes Installation of 792 Solar Panels at its Littleton Facility

Breckenridge Brewery, a Colorado staple that originally opened its doors 30 years ago in the town of Breckenridge. It has since grown to also operate a 12-acre facility in Littleton.

Breckenridge Brewery is excited to announce they have completed the installation of 792 solar panels at its facility in Littleton. To celebrate this accomplishment and steps towards a greener, more sustainable future, the brewery will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark this momentous occasion, with beer and appetizers to follow.

The newly installed solar array will produce 433,280 kilowatt-hours (kWhs) per year which equates to 20% of Breckenridge Brewery’s annual purchased electricity. This is equivalent to 675,500 pounds of CO2 avoided each year.

Breckenridge Brewery prides itself on making sustainability a priority. Recent efforts include utilizing its onsite garden for a farm-to-table menu, working with local partners for an Earth Day cleanup, installing energy efficient LED lighting, and last year, hosting a World Environment Day event where the brewery raised enough money to plant 698 trees.

Installed by Forefront Power and HOLT Renewables, the new solar panels will play a major role in reducing Breckenridge Brewery’s carbon footprint and create a more sustainable future. Breckenridge Brewery’s solar panel installation is part of a larger commitment from Brewers Collective, the craft business unit of Anheuser-Busch, and its Elevate initiative which is working towards 100% solar and wind renewable electricity by the end of 2020 at its craft partner locations.
